Young Adults

Turn your idea for change into something REAL.

Change the Story helps you lead a project that makes a difference in your community.

You bring the idea. We help you turn it into action.

You care about making a difference.

Getting started is the hard part.

You may have an idea, or at least a sense of what matters to you, but turning that into something real can feel overwhelming.

It’s hard to know where to start, who to involve, or how to create impact that actually lasts.

What’s often missing is not motivation, but the support and structure to turn your idea into action.

A Clear Path from Idea to Action

Change the Story gives you the structure and support to turn your idea into something real. You lead the project, with guidance, resources, and a team alongside you.

You’ll collaborate with others, including a faith community, so you’re not doing this alone. With a clear process in place, you can focus on creating something meaningful that reflects what you care about.

A SIMPLE,

Step-by-Step Process

You start by applying with your idea, even if it’s still forming.

From there, you’ll join a two-day, workshop experience where you refine your idea, build your team, and get the support you need to move forward.

After that, you launch your project with guidance and resources along the way, turning your idea into real impact in your community.

More than an idea, you create something REAL.

Through Change the Story, you gain:

  • Real leadership experience, not just theory

  • A team to collaborate with and learn from

  • Funding to bring your idea to life

  • Guidance and support throughout the process

  • The confidence to take an idea and follow it through

You LEAD.

We SUPPORT.

Change the Story is not about telling you what to build or asking you to fit into someone else’s agenda. You choose what matters to you and take the lead in shaping your project.

You’re building something real, with support, structure, and a team alongside you, so your work can have lasting impact.

Real ideas.

Real impact.

Kenan, Young Adult Leader

Kenan wanted to expand the reach of a Juneteenth festival and create deeper understanding of the lived experiences of Black community members.

Through Change the Story, he partnered with a local congregation to grow the event and strengthen community connections.

The experience helped him step into leadership and continues to shape how he collaborates and creates impact.

Keegan, Young Adult Leader

Keegan wanted to make science and nature more accessible to people who might not otherwise see themselves in those spaces.

Through Change the Story, he led a team in offering hands-on workshops, garden-based learning, and a large neighborhood event that brought people together around food, ecology, and connection.

He strengthened his leadership ability to communicate complex ideas in engaging ways and now uses storytelling and community partnerships to inspire others to connect with the natural world.
